A partner of Feeding Hong Kong, Urban Nexus endeavors to meet the needs of the surrounding communities through distributing surplus food that would otherwise go to waste. With the aim to expand our food distribution network, through research we help to form lasting synergies with organisations already serving the communities most in need. It is our heart and vision to see good quality products (that would otherwise go to waste) going to those with genuine needs due to either poverty or life altering disabilities.
Hong Kong faces a great problem. Over 3,200 tons of food waste is produced in Hong Kong each day, meaning that 3,200 tons of food are going to landfill sites every day. This in turn is creating a problem not only for the government but for the environment and peoples of Hong Kong

The presence of organisations like Feeding Hong Kong & YWAM Tuen Mun and
and their efforts help make companies and corporations related to food aware
of these facts and the needs of the underprivileged and encourages them to
become donors to the food bank through reducing their own food waste. There is a
direct correlation between the quantity of donors averting food waste through
partnering with us and the amount of recipients ending up with the surplus good
quality produce. The more donors there are the more expansion is needed to direct
the surplus food to suitable end users.
In our partnership with Feeding Hong Kong we collect surplus food every week, feeding over 1000 people in the area of Tuen Mun in the North Western New Territories.

We are also aim to expand the network of food receipients by researching
the areas of greatest need and though forming partnerships with organisations
in areas that would greatly benefit from the donations and support to help those
in need. 100% of the food items go to a list of charity partners that work
solely with the elderly, aged blind, mentally and physically disabled and
families of low income. If you have a heart for the most neglected and often
forgotten part of society in Hong Kong, come and join us!
Together we can cut food waste and bring quality produce to those most in need, helping the society and also bringing a solution to the problem of waste!
